Local Results are now appearing for Broad Search Terms!  

Google recently made a change to their search results for broad level search terms.  "Broad level" terms are categories such as Attorney, Dentist, Pizza, or Plumber - without a city or zip code modifier.  If the search has potential for local intent, the Google results now show a local map at mid page.  Google uses IP targeting to determine the searchers location in order to show local results.
